Design Plan

Create a light and airy space with pieces already in the mix. There were 2 design givens - that we needed the color blue because it’s the husband’s favorite color, and that the artwork had to stay for the BIG wall. The existing yellow color of the walls didn't feel spacious or open, so the room was brightened up with a coat of Benjamin Moore Cloud White. "We really wanted to be in the clouds while entertaining, no heavy stuff."

Use natural elements such as the fiddle-leaf fig to bring a sculptural quality while helping connect the inside space to the outside, adding a balancing natural element to the distinctive modern lines present in much of the room.
